Dr. Heather Bond Southard, DDS
A proud native of Northeast Arkansas, Dr. Southard completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2002. She feels deeply grateful to practice dentistry in the community she calls home.
Over the years, Dr. Southard has developed a focused passion for the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Her dedication to this area of care is both professional and personal. Having experienced the challenges of TMJ-related pain herself, including chronic neck and shoulder discomfort, headaches, and vertigo. She offers her patients not only advanced clinical expertise, but also a genuine sense of understanding and compassion.
In 2011, she completed a mini residency in orofacial pain at the University of Kentucky. She further advanced her training by completing a year long residency in orofacial pain at the LSU College of Dentistry. In addition, she has pursued extensive continuing education through the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, where she earned her fellowship. Her training includes comprehensive study in TMJ disorders, craniofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine.
Dr. Southard is especially passionate about the life-changing impact of dental sleep medicine. She is dedicated to helping patients suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, particularly those who are unable to tolerate CPAP therapy by providing customized oral appliance solutions. Her approach reflects a commitment to both clinical excellence and whole patient care, grounded in the understanding that proper management of TMD is essential when treating sleep-related breathing disorders.
She maintains active membership in the American Dental Association, Arkansas State Dental Association, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, staying at the forefront of advancements in her field.
Above all, Dr. Southard values connection with her patients, her community, and her family. She is a proud mother to Brandon and Blakely and treasures the time they spend together.
Lauren, Clinical Administrator/Registered Dental Assistant
Lauren was raised here in Northeast Arkansas. With over 18 years in the dental field, she brings a high level of clinical expertise along with genuine commitment to patient care. She has completed advanced training in the Pinhole Surgical Technique, TMD treatment, and Sleep Therapy, allowing her to support a wide range of patient needs with confidence and precision. Lauren is dedicated to creating a comfortable experience for every patient she works with and values being a trusted part of her patients’ care. Whether assisting chairside or managing the clinical side of the office, she focuses on making each visit relaxed and a well-coordinated experience. Lauren is the mom of two boys, enjoys summertime and watching sports.
Jenn, Insurance Coordinator/Office Assistant
Jenn was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and is a graduate of Arkansas State University. She has been working in the dental field for over nine years, including the past three years with our team. Jenn plays an important role in helping patients understand and navigate the financial side of their dental care, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience from start to finish. She is known for her attention to detail, reliability, and her ability to make patients feel comfortable and well taken care of. Outside of the office, Jenn enjoys spending time with her family and making the most of everyday moments.
Amber, Registered Dental Hygienist
Amber attended Arkansas State University for her undergraduate degree before transferring to Merdian Community College. There she received her degree in dental hygiene in 2003. She has been serving our patients for 16 years. She especially loves interacting with patients and developing personal relationships with the team. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, attending church regularly, traveling, and her beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
Allison, Registered Dental Hygienist
Allison grew up in Wynne, Arkansas and graduated from Cross County High School. She earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Concorde Career College in Memphis, Tennessee in 2025. Allison is passionate about patient care and enjoys building meaningful relationships with those she treats. She is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for during every visit. Allison recently married her husband in October and enjoys spending time with him and their two cats!
Nikki, TMD Assistant
Nikki has been a valued member of our team for the past three years, bringing dedication, versatility, and a genuine passion for patient care to everything she does. As a TMD assistant, she plays an important role in supporting specialized treatment while also helping in many other areas throughout the office, always ready to step in wherever she’s needed. Outside of work, Nikki leads a full and creative life. She enjoys being involved in community theater, where she expresses her love for the arts, and she also spends time playing the flute and painting. Her creativity and attention to detail carry over into the care she provides each day. Family is at the heart of Nikki’s life. She treasures time with her husband, Danny, their two daughters, Tori and Magan, and especially her beloved grandchildren, Noah and Eliza. Her faith is a guiding force in her life and is reflected in the compassion and positivity she brings to both her team and patients. Nikki’s warm personality, artistic spirit, and commitment to excellence make her an integral part of our practice.
Brittany, Registered Dental Assistant
Brittany was born in Missouri’s bootheel and raised in Paragould, AR. She graduated from Arkansas State University in 2021 and has worked as a Registered Dental Assistant at Southard Family Dentistry for over 3 years. She is dependable, hardworking, and patient-focused. Brittany is passionate about creating a comfortable experience for every patient while supporting a smooth and efficient work environment. Outside of work, Brittany loves traveling with her boyfriend, being outdoors, and spending quality time with family.
Renee, Registered Dental Assistant
Renee has been with Dr. Southard since she started her practice in 2005. She was born and raised in Jonesboro. Renee graduated from Jonesboro High School. She then became a Registered Dental Assistant, having 40 years’ experience. Renee is responsible for assisting Dr. Southard with all dental procedures. Renee and her husband Jim have three children. They enjoy spending their free time vacationing.
Stacy, Registered Dental Assistant
Stacy has been a valued member of our team for the past two years, bringing with her an impressive 23 years of experience in the dental field. Her knowledge, skill, and commitment to patient care make her an essential part of our practice. A native of Paragould, Stacy enjoys spending her free time outdoors, especially during the summer. Whether she’s hiking, relaxing outside, or making memories with her family, she appreciates staying active and connected to nature. Stacy is a proud mom to two boys and shares her home with her dog, Charlee, who keeps life fun and full of energy. Her love for family and her easygoing, caring personality shine through in the way she connects with patients every day. With her years of experience and warm approach, Stacy helps create a comfortable and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
